Macra na Feirme is a vibrant, independent, non-profit, national
voluntary organisation for rural young people and young farmers

consists of a nationwide network of clubs which support a range of
activities in agriculture, sport, travel, public speaking and
performing arts.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The purpose of the role is to devise and implement sustainable
fundraising sustainability strategies and plans to achieve Macra na
Feirme?s annual targets. Achievement through maintaining and growing
its existing donor-base, securing new and sustainable sources of
income from donors, grant-giving bodies, and corporate sponsors.
Current fundraising activities undertaken by Macra na Feirme include
corporate funding, trusts/foundations, and national/EU grant
applications.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and
possess an entrepreneurial approach to his/her work. Developing and
managing both internal and external relationships is also an essential
part of the role. He/she will also possess the experience and presence
to represent Macra na Feirme amongst influential audiences and at
events and meetings. Experience of online marketing and the harnessing
of social media generally are vital for successful execution of the
role.

fundraising, or business development. This role provides an
opportunity to develop and implement a strategy which generates
sustainable fundraising income for a reputable, long-established
non-for-profit organisation.

young people living in rural Ireland. We deliver a range of services
and supports for young people across rural Ireland through our network

A new post for the organisation, a key aspect of this role entails
planning and partnering with Macra na Feirme managers to secure new
funding and corporate sponsorships to enable the organisation achieve
our mission.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate will:
_DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT FUNDRAISING STRATEGY_
* Devise a national fundraising strategy, to deliver on Macra na
Feirme financial targets
* Develop an annual plan with monthly milestones including
expenditure and income targets
* Enhance existing fundraising activities and channels
* Investigate and harness new and emerging sources of contributions
to Macra na Feirme
* Lead and motivate colleagues to implement and deliver on the
strategy and plans
* Integrate and optimise contribution of volunteers to achieving
fundraising goals
* Build strong working relationships with colleagues, as well as
Board Members, in order to engage the whole organisation in the
fundraising drive
* Increase fundraised income year on year and identify areas of new
growth for Macra na Feirme
* Build meaningful collaborative relationships with new and existing
partners to secure new funding while also valuing and maintaining
existing fundraising relationships
_GRANT WRITING_
* Research grant opportunities from government and non-government
agencies
* Draft grant proposals and supporting documents based on the
funding requirements of the organisation
* Submit proposals to grant coordinators for approval
* Respond to internal and external queries on drafted and submitted
proposals
* Maintain positive relationships with fund providers and other
stakeholders
* Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities
_MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS_
* Organise and lead the production of fundraising promotional
materials as required
* Ensure the articulation of Macra na Feirme?s desired image and
position, assuring its consistent communications to all stakeholders,
both internal and external
* Draft editorial content for distribution to the media to promote
Macra na Feirme and its fundraising objectives
* Support in the production of Macra na Feirme?s online newsletter
* Proposal Writing
* Providing excellent donor care and communications, including face
to face (where applicable), written or telephone contact as required
* Implementing solid donor care plans for new & existing donors to
ensure their experience with Macra na Feirme is positive
* Monitor Macra na Feirme?s website from fundraising viewpoint and
ensure its potential as a fundraising tool is maximised
* Attend relevant fundraising fora such Charities Institute of
Ireland fundraising groups, The Wheel and other relevant bodies
_FINANCIAL REPORTING AND EVALUATION_
* Prepare and maintain a rolling income and expenditure run-rate /
forecast in close cooperation with Finance Manager
* Managing the invoicing or grant claim procedures for all sponsor &
donor related activities in cooperation with the finance team
* Record, monitor and report financial progress at weekly meetings
with the Communications Manager and Chief Executive
* Prepare bi-monthly reports for the Chief Executive and Board
* Carry out regular evaluations of the overall fundraising
programmes of Macra na Feirme in consultation with the Chief
Executive, Senior Management Team and Board in order to continually
improve processes and contributions
* Recording donor data on CRM as required. Experience of working
with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms is desirable
_GENERAL DUTIES_
* General administration and dealing with enquiries, requests and
ad-hoc fundraising queries or opportunities
* Assisting in the planning and implementation of other fundraising
activities, as assigned
* Supporting the Communications Manager as required
* Delivering all activities on time

_ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS_
* 5+ years proven track record of fundraising in an NGO or similar
environment
* Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organisational and
personal related skills and experience delivering plans across
multiple channels
* Excellent knowledge of proposal submission and fundraising process
* Ability to study and understand programs and funding requirements
of the organization
* Strong research skills and knowledge of information sources
* Ability to handle confidential matters with utmost integrity
* Strong presentation and communications skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, Excel,
Word, etc
* Knowledge of Salesforce similar products is desirable
* Excellent people management and relationship management skills
* Experience of working with Senior Management and at Board level
* Public relations experience
* Full clean driving license
